2022 BC High School Grade 9 Boys 3×3 Champions.

The Burnaby South Rebels were undefeated in the round robin elimination and the finals defeating Surrey Christian Falcons in the Semi-Final then St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights in the Finals Sunday on the main court just prior to the Provincial’s game for 3rd and 4th place. The Rebels team of Llorikk Gutierrez, Tyler Crossley, Nathan Baker and Tom Pham received first place trophies, $500 contribution to their school’s basketball program and courtesy of the Fraser Valley Bandits Championship T-shirts plus 4 pairs of tickets to the Bandits home opener on Saturday June 4, at their new home, the Langley Events Center.

Going undefeated in 7 games over 2 rounds of eliminations on Saturday, the Rebels (7-0) advanced to Sunday’s Final Four as the #1 seed, drawing the #4 seed, the Falcons who had advanced with a 4-4 record.

The STM Knights advanced to Final Four as #2 seed with a 5-2 record to play St. George’s Saints who advanced with a 4-4 record as #3 seed. The Knights beat the Saints and advanced to the Final losing a close one to the Rebels. The Saints topped the Falcons in the Consolation Final.

2nd – The Knights – Shane Geza, Jacob Oretta, Isaac Jimenez
3rd – The Saints – Aryan Sablok, Brent Lu, Chris Liu, Max Shen
4th – The Falcons – Prince Dean, Prince Davidson, Enoch Lee, Isaac Lee

OUR GOAL for the 2022 PROVINCIAL 3×3 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our goal is to offer an opportunity (at no-cost) for the top 50 to 100 Grade 9 basketball players,
whose teams did not qualify for the Grade 9 Provincials,
to compete for a Championship in a highly competitive environment in front of a gym full of fans.

WHO CAN ENTER?
ANY GRADE 9 OR 8 PLAYERS FROM ANY SCHOOL TEAM THAT DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE BC GR9 PROVINCIALS.

1. No entry fee or cost.

2. $500 Scholarship to the winning team. Top 4 teams receive Provincial trophies and Championship t-shirts.

3. ELIGIBILITY – any Grade 9 player who is not in the Grade 9 Provincials. (example- if you just played in the BC Junior Boys Provincials- you are eligible.) You must all be from the same school. You may have up to 2 grade 8’s per team.

4. Round Robin and Elimination Games start at 9:00 Saturday March 5 at Semiahmoo and Earl Marriott gyms and go all day. The top 4 teams from each gym advancing to the semi – finals Final Eight. Round robin play continues to a Final Four. The Final Four return the next day, Sunday March 6 at 1200 to play for gold in the main gym just prior to the Provincial Final last 2 games.
