Notice of Player Suspensions and Teams Warning

Dear Coaches, Players, and Tournament Participants,

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their participation and sportsmanship throughout the Grade 9 Boys Invitational Tournament. Your dedication and commitment to the game are what make this event a success.

Unfortunately, we must also address an incident that took place during one of Friday’s games. In the final moments of the game, an altercation occurred that resulted in two players being ejected for physical misconduct. As a Tournament, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of violence or unsportsmanlike behavior. After careful review, the Tournament Directors have made the decision to suspend the players involved for the remainder of the Tournament. While the players involved are permitted to attend games as spectators and sit on the bench with their respective teams, they will not be allowed to wear their team uniforms or participate in warm-ups.

Additionally, if there are any further incidents involving the players, coaches, or spectators of these two Teams — whether on the court, on the bench, or in the crowd—the game will be called early and their team will be immediately disqualified from the remainder of the Tournament. Furthermore, their School will not be eligible to participate in next year’s Tournament, regardless of their finish in their zone.

While competition is an important aspect of sport, we want to reinforce that respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship must always remain at the forefront. We expect all players, coaches, and spectators to uphold these values and represent their teams with integrity.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and look forward to the remainder of the tournament being played in the spirit of fair play and respect for the game. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you, and best of luck in your remaining games.
