open to all Grade 9 players whose teams have finished their season, free to enter
with $2,000 in bursaries and awards for the Final Four 3×3 teams.

All Zones must complete their qualifying championships by WEDNESDAY FEB 18. If Zones can complete a few days earlier, this will help the Wildcard teams.

The Wildcard Tourney, Friday Feb 20 & Saturday Feb 21, is an 8 Team Seeded Single Knockout with 2 Berths at stake (see below). Entry is based on finishes in Zone Playoffs. The invite is extended to the highest finishing team in the Zone, if that team declines, the next highest placing team is invited. There are no entry costs for the teams competing in the Wildcard Tourney.

  • Wildcard Tourney Seeding Conference call (via Zoom) is Wednesday Feb 18 at 8:00 pm.

The 5th Annual Grade 9 Boys 3×3 Playoffs – Tuesday February 24 Hosted by Lord Byng.
The Final Four of the 3×3 is Sunday March 1 (at 3:00 pm) at Lord Byng.
This is open to all Grade 9 players whose teams have finished their season, free to enter and $2,000 in bursaries for the Final Four 3×3 teams.

Each Zone in BC receives a minimum of one berth.

Preliminary Berths are established December 1, 2025 and adjusted by February 1, 2026.

HOSTS

Berth – H1 & H2 – The Host Schools plays in the Sea to Sky – Vancouver Zone.
If both Hosts finish Van1 or Van2 or Van3, both Host Berths are reassigned to the Wildcard Tourney.
If one Host finishes Van1 or Van2 or Van3, one Host Berth is reassigned to the Wildcard Tourney.
If the Hosts do not finish Van1 or Van2 or Van3, the Hosts receive the automatic Host Berths.
If either of the Hosts finishes Van4, the Host will not be invited to the Wildcard Tourney, EV4 will receive the Wildcard Invite.

Wildcard @ Abbotsford Senior – Friday February 20 & Saturday February 21.
There are no entry costs for the teams competing in the Wildcard Tourney.
8 Team Seeded Single Knockout Format with 4 teams advancing.
Eligibility: EV4 – FN3 – FN4 – FS5 – FS6 – Ind2 – NS3 – Van3
– If any team declines then the next highest finishing team in that Zone is invited.

HOSTING and FUNDING

The 29th ANNUAL GRADE 9 BOYS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT (formerly the BC HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL GRADE 9 BOYS INVITATIONAL PROVINCIAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS), now its 29th year, are conducted as a not-for-profit event by the volunteer organizers. 100% of all monies (Tourney Fees, Gate, Merchandise, Concession, Advertising and Sponsorships, etc.), are directly received by the Host School for the benefit of their basketball programs. Contact us to be considered as a Future Host.
