open to all Grade 9 players whose teams have finished their season, free to enter
with $2,000 in bursaries and awards for the Final Four 3×3 teams.

All Zones must complete their qualifying championships by WEDNESDAY FEB 19.
If Zones can complete a few days earlier, this will help the Wildcard teams.

The Wildcard Tourney, Friday Feb 21 & Saturday Feb 22, is an 8 Team Seeded Single Knockout with 3 Berths at stake (see below).  Entry is based on finishes in Zone Playoffs.  The invite is extended to the highest finishing team in the Zone, if that team declines, the next highest placing team is invited.  There are no entry costs for the teams competing in the Wildcard Tourney.

  • Wildcard Tourney Seeding Conference call (via Zoom) is Wednesday Feb 19 at 8:00 pm.

  • All 8 Wildcard Teams Rosters and Team Pics are due Friday Feb 21 at 9:00 am.
  • Wildcard Tourney starts Friday Feb 21 at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School.
  • Wildcard Tourney Winners – Remaining Documents are due Monday Morning Feb 24 by 9:00 am.

The 4th Annual Grade 9 Boys 3×3 Playoffs –
 Wednesday February 26 Hosted by Abbotsford Senior.
The Final Four of the 3×3 is Sunday March 2 (at 2:45) at Abbotsford Senior.
This is open to all Grade 9 players whose teams have finished their season, free to enter and $2,000 in bursaries for the Final Four 3×3 teams.

    Each Zone in BC receives a minimum of one berth.

Preliminary Berths are established December 1, 2024 and adjusted by January 18, 2025.

HOST
  Berth – H1The Host School plays in the Eastern Valley Zone.
  If the Host finishes EV1 or EV2 or EV3 the Host Berth is reassigned to the Wildcard Tourney.
  If the Host does not finish EV1 or EV2 or EV3, the Host receives the automatic Host Berth.
  If the Host finishes EV4, the Host will not be invited to the Wildcard Tourney, EV5 will receive the Wildcard Invite.

HOSTING and FUNDING
The 28th ANNUAL GRADE 9 BOYS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT (formerly the BC HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL GRADE 9 BOYS INVITATIONAL PROVINCIAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS), now its 28th year, are conducted as a not-for-profit event by the volunteer organizers.  100% of all monies (Tourney Fees, Gate, Merchandise, Concession, Advertising and Sponsorships, etc.), are directly received by the Host School for the benefit of their basketball programs.  Contact us to be considered as a Future Host.
